The Home Depot Kids Workshop

For three hours on Saturday, the show floor hands your kids a real apron, real tools and a project that goes home with them. You get to walk the rest of the show while they build.

A Home Depot Kids Workshop demo on the show floor — hands-on building, crafts and a wood project your kids take home. Saturday only, during the Fort Lauderdale Home Show. Kids 4–12 get in for $1 and the workshop itself is free — no additional fee to take part.

Every builder gets an orange Home Depot Kids Workshop apron — the one they will refuse to take off for the rest of the day.

They build

Real wood, real tools, real hammering. Staff walk them through it step by step, so first-timers are fine.

They take it home

The finished project — painted, decorated and entirely theirs — goes home at the end.

The workshop runs for three hours in the middle of the show day. The show itself runs all four days, but this is the one afternoon the Home Depot build tables are set up.

Doors on Saturday are 12–8 PM, so there is time either side of the workshop to see the rest of the floor. Everything is indoors and air-conditioned at the Broward County Convention Center.

The short answers

When exactly is the Kids Workshop?

Saturday, September 5, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, on the show floor at the Broward County Convention Center.

How much is it for kids?

Show admission for kids aged 4–12 is $1, and there is no additional fee to take part in the workshop — it is included with admission. Adults are $15 and seniors 65+ are $12. Tickets are on the tickets page.

Do the kids take anything home?

Yes — they build a wood project and it goes home with them, along with the Home Depot Kids Workshop apron.

Is it on any other day?

No. The show runs Friday, September 4 through Labor Day Monday, September 7, but the Home Depot Kids Workshop is Saturday afternoon only.

Where do we park?

The Broward County Convention Center has on-site parking. See directions and parking.

Bring the little ones

Saturday afternoon, they build something with their own hands. Kids 4–12 get in for a dollar.
